I am reposting this article that I found through Dyani Lewis‘s blog. In the article, she asks’ a number of excellent questions about the nature of mental health. Usually when we think of mental health, we think of negative symptoms or experiences like depression or anxiety. Just like with physical health, mental health can suffer, but it also can thrive. Positive mental health is not something we think about… but we definitely know when we lack it!

One of the best things I have done for my mental health is develop a regular exercise routine. That has improved my mental well by giving me something that I enjoy, and it boosts my mood naturally. I am also much better at talking to others when I need to talk, and initiating connection.
