7 Ways to prepare yourself for a fantastic recovery, healing, and growth.

___

Are you ready for today?

One of your most important goals is to learn to be ready. Being ready is powerful and it can change your life.

Readiness is important because you have a storm awaiting you as soon as you set your foot on the bedroom floor. Where will this sh*t storm come from? Your relationships, your choices, your triggers and temptations, your responsibilities, your competitors if you have them, your aspirations, your smartphone, and the media.

Don’t get me wrong, all of this can be a good thing.

Because your life wants to be your teacher.

In recovery? Working on healing from trauma or other emotional wounds? Trying to outmaneuver your various triggers and personal temptations? Know that your teacher is already present.

When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. Buddha Siddhartha Guatama Shakyamuni

Being ready is pretty important because good things will come your way when you are ready. When you are ready, life will begin to teach you. Your teacher is always present, you just have to be ready.

Not only is life waiting for you to be ready so it can teach you, life is also waiting for you to be ready to give back.

When the teacher is ready, the student will appear.

Today, life is waiting for you. Recovery is waiting and healing is ready for you. Are you ready for what your life, your recovery, your healing and your growth wants to teach you?

Today, life is waiting for you. Recovery is waiting and healing is ready for you. Are you ready for what your life, your recovery, your healing and your growth wants to teach you? Are you also ready for how life wants you to give back to others, teach, and support?

So how do you get ready?

1/ Being ready does not mean that you always have to be turned on, plugged into your technology and aware of current events. Going faster and faster can be exhausting.

Being ready means that you listen and you hear.

2/ Being ready is not about competition or power, although it is empowering.

3/ Being ready does not mean that your trust radar needs to be on high alert all of the time. That builds walls that can tear you down. Not everyone is a risk and not every situation is a danger.

Being ready is about knowing when to drop your guard.

4/ Being ready does not mean that you are ultra-prepared, disaster ready, gloom-and-doom. That is perfectionism.

Being ready means that you pay attention. Paying attention is about reflecting on your life and that you ask yourself questions.

5/ Being ready does not mean that you try to predict the future, anticipate every inconvenience and plan for it. Doesn’t work, I used to try to do that.

Being ready means that you admit that you are tapped, tired, hurting and broken. You are prepared to ask for help, to kneel and admit that you are at the end of your resources.

6/ Being ready does not mean that everything has to be right or ready before you get out of bed, make a choice or set yourself in action.

Being ready begins in a perspective that you will try something, take a risk, step out and put yourself out of your comfortable zone.

7/ Being ready is not about having to be a master teacher, have it together or mature.

Being ready means that you reach out for help and that you are also willing to reach out to give help.

Rather than focus on problems and on your deficits, think about your opportunities, what you are thankful for and what you already have going for you. Know that you already know enough, you have the tools that you need and the grace to face what you will face. You don’t have it all together, but you don’t have to.

Life is waiting for you to be ready, are you ready for it? Today, all that you need to say to life is, “Bring it.”
