There is More to Your Life than What You are Experiencing Today

Sometimes it can feel as though life has run over us, and other times it may feel as if life has run away from us.

Life seems to have a mind of it’s own and most days, life doesn’t share it’s plans with us.

Life rarely fits in with our ideas of how things should be. And life will runs it’s own course. Sometimes it can feel as though life has run over us, and other times it may feel as if life has run away from us. Life may not fit our plans, and our plans may not fit our life.

Life has it’s own terms for each of us. Life is not complicated, but it may be difficult. That life is difficult or painful does not mean that life is not working, or that we are defective or broken. In the times where life is hardest, or our pains are the most real, that is where life meets us.

That life is difficult or painful does not mean that life is not working, or that we are defective or broken. In the times where life is hardest, or our pains are the most real, that is where life meets us.

Life may not share it’s plans with you. You will have difficult, dark and even painful days. But that is not all of your life. There is more to your life than what you are experiencing today.

So be gentle with yourself, because self-compassion is a gift that only you can give to yourself.

Why Do I Write? I May Not Always Write Well, but I Am Writing Myself Well.

Vulnerability is a Risk, But it Will Make You Alive

I write articles that talk about the kind of changes I am trying to make in my own life. I hope that my writing also helps you. My topics include addiction and mental health recovery, relationships, and personal growth. I work as an Addiction Therapist, an Editor for the Good Men Project and freelance writer, and Adjunct Professor at City University, Edmonton. But what is most important is that I have a family and I am in recovery from depression and anxiety. My mental health experiences are part of my personal University degree, but they do not define me.

I hope to inspire you, to inform you and on occasion to entertain you. But most of all, I want to connect with you. Sign up for my blog if you want to receive the latest and best of my writing. If you like what I have to say, please share my work with your friends.

Lastly, if you like my writing, you can click here to vote for my page on Psych Central’s list of mental health blogs.
